I have disposable contact lenses and was hoping you could tell me how long can I wear disposable contact lenses before have to put in a new pair?
Disposable lenses come in many varieties and the style your fit in is
going to dictate mainly how often they should be replaced.
The most often a lens will be replaced is daily. The lenses are
called daily disposable contact lenses, and there are a couple
varieties. The general idea is that you put one fresh pair on in the
morning. Enjoy a clean comfortable pair of lenses all day long. Take
them out before you go to bed. When you’re done with that pair, toss
them in the garbage. The next day, put on a fresh clean pair again.

There are also two week disposable lenses which are designed to be
worn on a daily basis. Usually removed during sleep, and discarded
after two weeks of wear. This is the most common style of lens fit in
the United States today.

A third modality is monthly replacement contact lenses. These lenses
are also designed to be worn on a daily basis and removed during
sleep. After a month of wear simply discard them and use the fresh
pair.

While, there are some lenses available for overnight where, the
modalities I’ve discussed here are for daily wear.

Even though the lands is indicated for a specific replacement
schedule, it is important to listen to your eye care provider as to
how often you should replace your contact lenses. Over wearing
contact lenses can potentially cause unnecessary risk. In my opinion
it’s just not worth it.
