Is there a generic brand of Synergeyes A Hybrid Contact Lenses and where can I order them from?
Overall in the world of contact lenses, there is no such thing as a “generic brand”. When you receive a contact lens fitting, your eye care provider is specifying a lens that will work best for you. If you take a look at any contact lens prescription it has a couple of required fields. Those are:

  1. BC (central base curve)
  2. RX (the prescription to provide proper vision)
  3. D (overall diameter of the lens)
  4. Make or Manufacturer

It is possible to have two contact lenses with identical criteria for the BC, RX, and D but if they are not the same make or manufacturer those lenses can be entirely different.

The main reason being is that there are many proprietary materials that are used to manufacture contact lenses and we have yet to find that “perfect” lens material. If you ever have the opportunity to hold an Acuvue Oasys and a B&L Purevision together, you will notice they even feel different to the touch. For most soft lens breakthroughs, it has nothing to do with the fit and everything to do with the material, which is proprietary.

In the case of the Synergeyes A hybrid contact lens, that is definitely proprietary and there is no generic version. Prior to the Synergeyes the only other hybrid lens was the Softperm (which replaced the Saturn). The concept was great, but because the materials used are not the healthiest on an eye, that lens was used primarily for specialty conditions such as keratoconus.

Synergeyes has come up with a concept that allows healthy lens materials to be used in a hybrid manner, so we can now use this lens on many types of eyes. But there is not chance of finding a “generic version” of the synergeyes or any other contact lens for that matter.

Besides, the Synergyes A has 20 available fits, not including the Rx and powers can range from +20 to -20. And the Rx of the final lens will definitely be different from any regular soft lens you have worn before.

In short, if you are interested in the synergeyes contact lens, visit your contact lens fitter. If you don’t have one, contact Synergeyes and they will help you find a qualified fitter. Personally, I think it is a fantastic lens. So great, in fact, that I fit my own mother in a Synergeyes.

Hi, I’m italian and I have keratoconus. I’m extremly interested in synergeyes lenses because I pratice agonistic sport and I need a stable, soft-like lens.
Here in Italy synergeyes aren’t yet avabile, and would be avaiable in 2008 at best.

I have a friend with a brother in the USA … Is it possibile having the right prescription from an eye doctor to get these lenses in the USA through my friend’s brother or is just too much dangerous ?

Thanks and sorry for my bad english.
